Your Visit

Please budget up to two hours for the first appointment & half a hour for a return visit.

What should you bring?

Upon Arrival.

Allergy Skin Testing.

Allergy skin testing is used to identify the substances that are causing your allergic symptoms. In order for your allergy skin testing to be as accurate as possible, all antihistamines (Claritin-Loratadine, Allegra-Fexofenadine, Zyrtec-Certirizine, Xyzal-Levocertirizine), except for Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) should be held for one week prior to your initial or testing appointment. Benadryl should be discontinued at least 48 hours prior to your visit. Histamine-blocking antacids should be discontinued at least 24 hours prior to your visit. Other medications to consider include tricyclic antidepressants, monamine oxididase inhibitors and beta blockers (check with your primary care phyisician to ensure that it is safe to briefly hold these medications). Please call our office if you have further questions or concerns about temporarily discontinuing your medications.

NOTE: Not all allergy medications need to be held prior to skin testing. You may continue your asthma inhalers or nebulizer treatments (controller and rescue), montelukast (Singulair), zileuton (Zyflo), and theophylline.

 Refill request, Forms & Letters:

All prescription refills, school and camp forms and letters are processed during normal office hours for active patients maintaining appointments. If you have missed an appointment, a follow up evaluation must be made prior to the request to ensure continuity of care and for patient safety  Patients should bring forms to the visit to be filled out in a timely fashion. Otherwise, it could take up to 1 week for the forms to be completed after the evaluation.
